An Important Message from the Pastor
I want all of the members of Grace Baptist Church, as well as those in the community that may visit our services, to know that the pastoral staff is closely monitoring the events and announcements regarding COVID-19.
After much prayer, and counsel with the proper authorities, GBC will remain open. We will comply with Governor Pritzker's mandate to limit assemblies in the same room or space to under 50 people. We have contacted Mayor Strait and the Police Chief, informing them that we will comply, and offered to help the city of Lockport in any way we can. We have also consulted the Christian Law Association for legal advice.
In light of the available information, we have taken a few proactive steps to make people as safe as possible:
Please consider the following for Wednesday, March 18th:
We encourage those who cannot attend to listen to the messages our website. If you are a member in need of anything, please contact the Pastor for help. Above all, we ask that you help us pray for God's wisdom and protection (Psalm 91:2).
If you exhibit any symptoms, such as a fever, cough, or difficulty breathing, we encourage you to stay home until you have recovered. This is for your own safety, as well as the safety of our members and their families. While there is no need for panic, we urge everyone, especially the elderly and those with underlying health conditions, to exercise wisdom and caution during this time. We will be updating our website and social media accounts with any additional announcements as they become necessary.
I hope to see you at our services! We need to hear from the Lord and His Word more than ever during this time of fear and panic.
Love in Christ,
Pastor Keith Harrison
